Famous Units/Weapons missing in the Game

Postby Jagor » 16 Oct 2014, 10:42

The 88 mm gun (commonly called the eighty-eight) was a German anti-aircraft and anti-tank artillery gun from World War II. It was widely used by Germany throughout the war, and was one of the most recognized German weapons of that conflict. Development of the original model led to a wide variety of guns.

Michael Wittmann a german tank ace famous for his ambush of elements of the British 7th Armoured Division, during the Battle of Villers-Bocage
Not really a unit or weapon but I would really like to see famous people as well

I think Wittman can hardly come out as a card, since he was schutzstaffel. Perhaps Otto Carius may come out instead? (Idk, since he's still alive)
I believe Soviet Union needs more epic(or legendary) cards. Like Richard Sorge, a Russian spy(Spy all enemy units for his ability, perhaps?).

We we start discussing "heros" we will need A LOT of new cards :)

Rank is not an issue...Zaitzev and Onoda were very low in rank...

WW2 has an enormous quantity oh heros, generals and remarkable histories...i could give al least 20 good suggestions from memory...a lot more using google :)
MacCampbell for instance was not even in my memory list...and althought i have hear abou Carius...Wittman seems more famous to me...

Russia already has Zaitsev...i think each country has ONE hero...and the game cannot have LOTS of Epic heros or we would risk having decks without any "normal" units...

That said...my first suggestion for a second hero for each country...out of the top of my head
Wittman or Rudel for Germany
Patton for USA
Sakai for Japanese
Zhukov for Russia
Stirling or Montegomery for UK

And as a side note...missing "vehicles"...also just those that most ww2 fans know...nothing very "specific"

Stuka
Sturmovik
PzIV and PzIII
88 (AT guns in general)
P47
Any Russian Tank Destroyer (there are a lot)

As I know, yes. There was a medal called Wittmann's Medal in the game World of Tanks. But it was deleted as German government requested, and renamed as Bölter's medal. So I think SS-involved people harldy come out in games, at least not as playable.

This Thread is going just brilliant! Keep it going!

Jagor, do you think you could keep the first post Updated with all the recommendations that are coming up? That will be easier to read and will look awesome.

As for SS units&heroes, we have to be very carefull as we will have to reject any hero related to them, so let's try to avoid them :)!

Do you have any plans adding paper-planned units such as Pz VII Löwe?
