My Matilda Didn't Die?

Facing a relative new guy, he had several Epics, but I didn't see any Legends...

Anyhow: He placed Steel Guards and promoted them several times! I killed them or died along with them...

But then I had Matilda in the front (r-1, 3-5) and Monty behind (also r-1, 5-4) facing an R-3 Steel: 9-6 on my turn.

But the Matilda didn't die! I knew that if artillery killed the nasty enemy, like Brumbars, the 'skill' wouldn't wipe out my units...

But Monty only does 5, not 6...

So is the order of effects:
> Fight (front units collide: 3 damage to Steels, 0 to Matilda)
>Then Arty (5 more to Steels, killing it)
>THEN effects like Penetration or Death Flames?

I think Tank Destroyer comes earlier than that? I know Shock only works if the unit survives... but doesn't Tank Destroyer kill off tanks regardless? Hummm...

And another thing:

I won 4x PvP against weaker opponents: got 5,4,5,5 points... that's OK
I lost to the #2 guy, 170+ ahead of me... -13.
THIRTEEN? He's freaking 7 places higher!! (at the time)

Then I "lost" (lolz, I surrendered) to a guy 1 place ahead of me, about 30 points better?
-8
huh? what? why? It makes no sense to me...

I had a similar situation some time ago.

Opponent had Zhukov facing one of my units in the frontline backed by Monty in the support line.
Same result , Penetration didnt apply to frontline unit.

Guess Monty attacks first , so penetration applies to him , but since he is in the support line he doesnt get destroyed.

I've been seeing a couple of reports like this,

Definetly something is not behaving as it's suppossed too, we will look into it and keep you posted, it definetly has to do with Destroying abilities after combat and its target.

Cheers and thanks for letting us know!

Ah, that would make sense. But probably not what was intended.

In Missions the Brumbar kills infantry if there's combined damage like this, but if the Artillery alone is enough to kill it? that saves the front unit. IDK if that is intentional or not...

That's what surprised me, the Monty alone wasn't enough to kill the Steels.
