Balance changes for Season 5!

Postby nAFAI » 25 May 2015, 13:58

As mention in the development letter, the idea behind our changes was clearly two points:

1- Balance the game around the Montgomery update where incapacitated "freezing" decks got very popular, we wanted to provide new alternatives to deal with those decks.
2- Increase the viability of low rarity cards into PvP, by increasing their stats and overall abilities. With this we want to give new players a slightly increase chances in their first PvP matches, now there are more low tier combinations that could work in PvP, we want to keep increasing this in future balance updates.

Hope you like the changes! Soon on your devices!

Ooo! Nice! Many improvements to make units more useful!

Improving Zhukov and Kuribayashi will hopefully get them used now.

Lowering the Mosin, Spitfire and JS-II seems quite reasonable. They're still good cards.

Some more Specialists and another Commando are good too. Iwo Mission really needs a commando!! Making more Specialists means more Item Cards can be played, and that's good!

The M-3 Lee will now -5 Attack a unit it hits? Interesting! Before or after counter-attack. I'll have to experiment I guess...

Glad I kept all those "low cards" as some seem more useful! Good job!

I'm sorry but I kinda miss the point on these changes.
I like that spitfire got nerfed but you guys left Montgomery untouched and I don't understand why.
I rarely played against freezing decks, the most common deck just rushes with deploy units and makes tempo advantage with t-34 and Montgomery. Once the deck is in a favourable position all you do is play scorched earth and dambusters followed up by banzai, sakai or additional deploy units. Freezing decks usually can't beat this.
But maybe I'm wrong and you guys have built far superior decks. I really don't know :S

Didnt quite get all the changes...interesting having units that restore attack...

There is one thing i dont get...Noborito will be able to destroy an ENTIRE CLASS at cost 1??? Any level???

This is way better than NOSB...which can destroy only ONE UNIT and costs 6 health...

I dont really care as i have both...and Noborito was collecting dust...but either the description is not complete...or it will replace NOSB in my deck...

My description was wrong, it will still remove all tier 1 "enemy" units, it will work only on tier 1 troops. As for the montgomery aggro decks I still think a good stall deck will still have good chances against them plus the addition of Attack restore cards that was hurting high end decks will increase their chances even more.

Let's see how it goes!

Oops! I confused "Specialist" (2 points stabby-stabby) with "Well Equipped" (Add item for -1 AP cost: 0 and 1) :)
The instant damage to 'any' is a lot better than the specific-type damage; much more versatile. Much better for the Type-3 Ho-Ni (was only damage armour, now a Specialist)

I think a few (not a lot) more WE units would make items more viable, many players (including me) only carry 2-3 items (Legendarys Gunto and Mosin, sometimes Maps, Bazooka), some carry none at all!

Nobotori Lab still doesn't say "Enemy" on the card... I think that was mentioned (known) already... it works properly though.

Missions should be a little bit better with these changes, thanks guys! And 'low' cards are now generally more useful for all.

And every "Godly Deck" will have a Medic card! Or two...

EDIT: I also confused "Commando" (3/5/8 damage) with "Sabotage" (destroys enemy items) Lolz! Oops. The Iwo Mission could really used some Sabatoge, even with already having "Spy" (Yay for Courageous!)
