Announcement regarding PvP

Postby Stone » Fri Sep 28, 2018 1:33 pm

Dear players,

As you know we try to do our best to listen to you: requests, suggestions, reports, etc... there's a specific request that you have been asking for a long time now and we have always moved back to the end of our to-do list since we were worried it could have really bad side effects.

We are, nevertheless, going to activate remotely a filter which will prevent the matchmaking algorithm to match you with any of your team members as your opponents, i.e. you will no longer be matched against a member of your team on a PvP match.

Take into account that we are going to be tracking and taking a very good look at the amount of matches that are played during this trial period. If the analysis after this time is positive (the server ends up serving more matches than it's used to), we will leave that filter for good. But, in case we detect a decrease on the amount of matches played we will be forced to revert the algorithm back to its original state.

I hope this is good news for you all,

Have a good weekend,

ps: The new algorithm is already live and running ;)

Nice first step in the right direction

When are you guys going to address the rating masking so other pvp players can't sit back and watch another players rating decrease (as is the case upon entering a match) so they know when to jump in the pvp queue to avoid you?

As an example see any match played by Spidey_X in the two months and the "coincidental" timing of when other pvp players, such as certain cowards in a certain gym that rhymes with Martians, enter the pvp queue.

They avoid other players to protect their pathetic rank
