I quit already but ...

Hi All,

Campaign
I quit the game 2 days ago out of frustration but i find myself often wondering if maybe i missed something. I love the game, i really did/do. I read the FAQ/Guide twice. I played all the way to campagin lvl 54 and with a few repeats i managed 3 stars all the way, then came lvl55 to be completed in 5turns and i played and played for two days and can't even manage 1 miserable star.
Day 1 - frustrated wanting to quit but i said i will give it another go with a fresh mind tomorrow
Day 2 - frustrated that i wasted two days trying to beat a level in vain

Raids
I went and played a raid but nothing really came out of it, all i do is play to lose until the adversary is dead. Is that it ??? Raiding means i load a level and i know for a fact i will lose so all i can do is inflict maximum damage and hope that it will take me 10 rounds to finish it instead of maybe 12 ??. So, out of those 10 plays, i know that i am playing to lose and on the 10th fight i will win ??. Did i get this right ? :)

Adventure
I then went and tried and adventure, i won and got 50 gold coins, ohh my i felt so drained after this. What am i supposed to do with those 50 gold coins now ? .... played 3 adventures and not once did the random scroll drop.

After reading the forums and getting stuck already, i didn't even dare loading PvP.

I did buy the vip 1st deal and as per the FAQ i bought some common / rare scrolls on offer daily and it helped. By the time i was at lvl 55 i had around 10,000 gold coins. I spent 9000 coins on scrolls in the hope that i will build a stronger deck to get pass this level but NAh, didn't happen.

So yeah, i uninstalled but i really like the game concept and theme. Nothing comes close to it, hence why i am here right now telling my life story in the hope someone picks up something and tells me what i did wrong!!

I was this close to buy some more gold coins until i got to lvl 55 and gave up entirely. A game is meant to be fun and entertaining, not frustrating.

In regards to PvP, i see many people complain about the lack of opponents and one even waited 2hrs once. Why not make two kind of PvPs ?? One where you get matched Vs real people like the current one and one where you get matched Vs the Persons team but AI plays. With the AI in charge, there will always be fights available 24/7. Yes i know an AI don't play as well as a human but all the Real person Vs Real Person ends up a dreaded wait and more often than not they leave in the middle or someone loses connection and that's the end of it. Keep it simple!!

Note to devs:
Get rid of those $ Vs boosts. Whenever i load a fight i am presented with a screen that gives me the option to buy boosts at $2.11 a piece, you serious ?? spend $2.11 per boost. Or have i not scored any gems yet to have boosts and my only way is $ ??. Lvl 55 and still not a single gem for a boost is quit pathetic. All it gives is the impression that you are greedy for dollars at every step.

Enough ranting, moving on :) thanks for listening and thanks for any assistance.

The key is not to bother worrying about 3 stars.
Complete the level and move on, gold is rewarded for completing new levels much more than anything else.
The main enjoyment from this game comes from PvP in my opinion. Raids, adventures and the campaign are just tools to help earn better cards to play with.
The daily rewards and daily quests help a lot, try to log on once a day, collect reward, play an adventure and craft a card for daily quests.
Gold is very precious and scarce, you need it for crafting, so only buy common packs unless there is a card on offer that you really need for your deck. Crafted commons will get you a long way in PvP and Raids, and to the end of the campaign. You will however need rare cards that drop from hard adventures and raids to get 3 stars in higher level campaign.

Hello Maximus,

First of all, thanks a lot for taking your time to express your feelings and sensations about the game. I won't lie to you but I feel you and understand your frustration, there are some points where the game fails to deliver the experience we desired, so I will cover those points now, we are working on a huge update to revamp some of the obsolete features that we have, so hopefully you will see something interesting in there and would want to stay with us for a bit longer:

- Gold Earning: At the moment this is something that needs to be revamped and it will be... the current pace of Gold per hour is just too low to keep up with the card upgrading and progression, it's good that you see a a long road ahead and that you have to take the road step by step, but you need also to have a sense of progress and now that sense is too little. We will be increasing the amount of gold earned in almost all of the features in the game.

- Crafting: We want also to have a close look at the crafting feature. There were some great feedback about this and losing your epic cards to craft just a legendary card feels just wrong at the current state of the game, so we or we revamp the crafting system, or we make it easier to obtain Epic Cards, expect one of those to happen.

- Level difficulty: We are revamping this too, we have several data from the last months and we will have a closer look at the win ratios per level, it's something that we will periodically do, so expect that happening more often.

- PvP: We will be increasing the player base with our next update, and we will optimize the matchmaking to make the waiting times much smoother, we will also add monthly tournaments to reward each month the top players.

In the end we see and share your points, the game is great and has a lot of potential but still hasnt managed to reach that level we desired, we will put a lot of emphasis on making it much better on this new big update. We hope to have it ready in 3 to 4 weeks. Will keep you posted.

Cheers!

Yes, i am not bothering with 3 stars, it just happened that i managed all 3 stars ALL the way to lvl54. Then i cannot for the life of me beat lvl55. I don't mind just 1 star and moving on to lvl56 but i need to be able to defeat them. K i'll try again :)

Ok Boss,
I will try again with less zeal this time around. I'll take a more casual approach to the game and see where it leads. I really like this game's premise, there is a lot of potential there if you guys can invest more time and energy at polishing it.

For the early turn levels you want to make a really fast deck; cards like hastati/aux cav/principes, maybe peltasts if you dont have enough of the others. These do the damage, add in some slaves just to negate some damage/ draw focus away from your damage dealers. Fully upgrade them in 1 turn, give them a kite shield when you can, make sure to have some saddles, maybe minamoto to clear lanes.

This way you should be able to make it to about level 100+, after that you will have enough turns to use joan turn 1 and various heroes to do the damage, which is usually also the best tactic for non turn levels.

Best of luck and hope it works out for you :)

Hmmm, i was actually using a few high requirement cards like x 2 Joane of arc and x 2 achilles. I will drop them and re arrange with lower tiered cards + a hell of a lot of weapons. Thanks for that, i'll give it a try later :geek:

ok,

I think i am back on track, thanks Framer.

I dumped all my high cost cards and replaced them with low costs + many many weapons and i made it pass lvl55 through to lvl60 and 2 stars and 1 star. Not too bad, not too bad.

Will an active alliance help ?.

I am not playing raids or adventures yet, one thing at a time ;)

I will finish off campaign then look around what next or should i not ? :)

Happy to hear it :)

An active alliance will help with 2 things: you get alliance points for winning in pvp and beating adventures, then at the end of the week you get about 9% of your points in bonus gold. The other is that an active alliance should be able to do a weekly alliance raid, this way giving you a free pack and a chance for the raid exclusive cards. If you are fairly active it might be worth it to join an alliance (4fun but active is looking for active players over lvl 50).

Raids are pretty much what you said in your first post: lose a bunch of times and slowly whittle it down until you win and get a pack. Since it doesn't cost you anything I'd suggest at least spending your raid tickets.

I'll be honest: pvp will be pretty rough since you can get matched with all players. You could try it to see what kind of cards and tactics people use but it's hard for a new player to get into atm. With the next big update and the start of the new season there should be a lot of new players starting and this would be a good time to try your hand at pvp, since you will get more matches with people of a similar level.

You can do adventures when you feel like it or are out of lives, the easy ones are free and they let you get a feel for what your deck is and what the ai plays. Then if you feel comfortable beating them you could try some paid ones and have a chance at some better cards on medium (hard isn't very rewarding atm, maybe with the new update) but you would need to be able to win fairly consistent and I'd join an alliance first so you also get some gold for your points :)

Is this only for new content or will the bugfixes for pvp (desync losses after 60 sec and games bugging out because of wonders) also take that long?
